Changes to the ACT

Many of my students have asked me about the ACT and I have always recommended that students take a practice ACT and compare it to their SAT scores. I recently received in an email from the ACT about changes to the format of the test. Since the test is still available on paper, it is important to recognize the the changes to the paper test will occur starting in September of 2025. The changes to the online ACT started with the April 2025 test. The most important changes appear to be with the number of questions and the timing. A link to the ACT website is included. I still recommend that students take a full length practice test under timed conditions. It might be helpful to take both an online practice test as well as a paper test to see which one you prefer.
